• Variety of 8.5-by-11-inch paper (unlined)
• Magic markers
• Page protector
• Dry erase markers

Step 1: Print your child’s name on an unlined piece of paper using an uppercase letter for the first letter and lowercase letters for the others. 

Step 2: Place the paper with your child’s name inside a clear page protector. 

Step 3: Demonstrate how to trace the letters in the name with a dry erase marker. Then remove the paper from the page protector and show your child how her name “magically” appears. 

Step 4: Erase the name from the page protector and let your child have a turn. 

Step 5: Continue as long as your child is interested.

Step 1: To make it easier, print just the first letter of your child’s name on an unlined piece of paper in large, clear writing. 

Step 2: Place the paper with your child’s letter inside a clear page protector. 

Step 3: Demonstrate how to trace the letter with a dry erase marker. Then remove the paper and show your child how her letter “magically” appears. 

Step 4: Erase the letter from the page protector and let your child have a turn. She will be amazed!

Step 5: Continue as long as your child is interested. Add more letters as your child becomes proficient.

Step 3: Demonstrate how to trace the letters in the name with a dry erase marker. Then remove the paper from the page protector and show your child how her name “magically” appears. 

Step 4: Erase the name from the page protector and let your child have a turn. 

Step 5: Continue as long as your child is interested.
